When I graduated from college, I was one of the lucky ones to have a job waiting for me. I couldn’t have been more excited to start my career as a full-time employee.
The only problem is that it wasn’t long before the honeymoon phase was over and I was looking for ways to make my work life more fulfilling.
Think about it — every day, from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed, you’re stuck in a routine.
You have to wake up at the same time each day, put on your shoes and coat, and sit in a car for an hour and a half to get to work. Once there, you do the same tasks, sit at the same desk, and talk to the same people. It’s a routine.
As the old adage goes, “If you want to get ahead, get a job.” But if you’re reading this, you’ve realized that the 9-5 just isn’t for you.

The Problem of 9 to 5 grind
I began asking myself how I could make my professional life more enjoyable. That’s when the opportunity for a telecommuting job surfaced. After interviewing with a few potential employers, I eventually landed a position as a manager at a company on the west coast.
As a telecommuter, I realized I would get my work done faster. I would spend more time working on creative projects, research, and organizing new strategies.
However, there was still a trade-off: I would have to put in long hours, working during evenings and on the weekends. In order to find the balance between work and life, I gave my office space a new name: home.
On my home desk, I created multiple workspaces and worked on different projects whenever I had a free moment. This process was completely new to me.
Why do people hate 9 to 5 jobs?
The 9 to 5 job is a staple of the working world. We all have them, whether we like them or not. For most of us, we work in these jobs because we need the money.
So why do people hate 9 to 5 jobs? The simple answer is because life is short and time is valuable. you can probably relate to being bored at work. People wish to be able to live their lives in a way that makes them happy.

Coping with 9-5 depression
1. Listen to music
is a proven fact that music relaxes the mind and makes you feel happier and better. You can listen to them in the car and this will be helpful for you.
2. Make up your mind
Make a mental resolution to reduce your stress. You should tell yourself that you will not give up and you will see the end of the tunnel. You should do this so that you will stay positive about it.
3. Mental health awareness
One of the ways to manage stress is through a healthy diet, while the other way is to regularly exercise your body. You will be able to create a healthy routine in life which is full of positivity and will also lead you to the path of mental peace.
4. Take care of your physical health
Make sure that you eat your meals on time, do some exercise and take a walk to improve your mental health. Having an active life will make your day bearable and happy. Don't stay at home all day. the best thing to do is to learn how to take a break from work.
5. Get a hobbies
You can go for regular sessions of yoga or meditation to keep yourself occupied and rejuvenate yourself. Do what you enjoy, helps you to keep yourself busy and happy in your comfort zone.
What I Learned after Quit My 9-5 job
There are two main reasons I decided to try something new: I was a father to a 7-year-old boy and my company was stagnating. I was lucky enough to have a supportive family, who took care of my son during the day.
But my company wasn’t like that. I didn’t get to spend enough time with my son during the week to have a positive impact on his life. He needed me at home, and my company wasn’t willing to let me work from home or even take a few days off to be with him.
But I knew if I stayed I’d be miserable. So I quit. How I quit, I thought about a few different options, including taking a huge pay cut or quitting my job. I ultimately decided that if I left my job without an income, it wouldn’t be a big deal.
The truth is, many of us feel trapped in the middle-class role, in a place between work and play. On one hand, we are there to earn a paycheck and make our own way in the world. On the other, we are constantly looking for ways to grow and expand our professional horizons.
I, for one, was afraid to change. I thought I could work at a job and still have something of a personal life. I realized I couldn’t afford to spend my time with my family because I had to continue working a 9-5.
That’s when it hit me: if I was having this much trouble with my 9-5 gig, what would it be like when I switched to freelancing? Luckily, I found some jobs with flexible hours to make the transition a little easier.

Taking that first step and becoming self-employed is a huge milestone and opportunity in life. You know you’re meant for better things, but you’re afraid to make the leap.

In our work, we tend to make all our plans for ourselves and our family members. We never think about our own dreams and goals. We focus on the tasks that are expected of us. Many times we do not allow ourselves to think about what we want to achieve in our lives.
This happens because we are occupied with doing something that we feel is our duty. We forget that what matters the most in our lives is the experience and the journey, not the destination.
